Sailing the Roads: Journal #5

By Greyson

Last night I went into a huge cave. It was really dark and hot. It was scary when it got to the first rope climbing part. There was a lot of climbing after that. We saw spectacled owls, frogs, blind crickets, spiders and tarantulas, and bats and birds and butterflies. The inside of the cave had flowing water and minerals that looked like crystals and water drops that looked like gold. Stalagmites form stalactites and they wear everywhere. Josh was our guide he told us about the cave. He pointed out all the Mayan pottery. They did rituals and prayed to the rain god in the cave. When we got to the other side we walked thru the jungle at night. It was glorious and beautiful!
